With a lifetime involvement in playing or administering sport, including Rugby, Surf and Multi-Sport, Ross’s involvement with the facility at Kilbirnie Park spans almost 20 years. Ross had the privileged to project manage the concept, design and construction of the venue from a local Rugby club, to the active sporting and community hub it is now. A previous owner of Williment Sports Travel, and now the owner / operator of BCD Travel in Wellington. Ross is a Director of the Wellington Rugby Football Union and Hurricanes Professional Rugby Team. Ross is married to Joanne, with three active children, two of whom are working / studying in Auckland, with their last at home with them still in Hataitai.
Jamie’s has been involved in the planning, development and operation of sport and recreation facilities and programmes for over 40 years. Most of his employment has been in local government of which 25 years with the Wellington City Council before moving to his current role as Spaces and Places Lead for Sport New Zealand. Throughout this time, he has also volunteered in various capacities as a coach, administrator and advisor. Jamie is married to Jill, they have two daughters and are both currently enjoying being grandparents and living at Waikanae Beach on the Kapiti Coast.
Having grown up in a house overlooking Kilbirnie Park, it is a place that will always feel like home to Fiona. Fiona was privileged to have been elected on the inaugural Board of thehub, and also the Sub Committee of thehub Ltd’s Food & Beverage Services. Fiona works as the Integrity Manager at New Zealand Rugby and is also a Director of Parents Centre New Zealand. Fiona has a busy home life with a supportive husband, two young children and a gorgeous german shepherd.
